Yeah, that was Van Morrison. There are a few other versions, I think, like The Doors, but the Van Morrison version is the one used in The Outsiders.

For the longest time I thought Elvis sang one of my alltime favorite songs, 'This Magic Moment' but it was Jay and the Americans.....another awesome group! But, yeah, I always pictured Elvis. I guess he has that affect! lol

Fosterchild, I adore that song.
That's interesting, though; I never really pictured anybody... although now I picture a kaleidoscope.

Haha, that's like that song "Suspicion" by Terry Stafford. He and Elvis sound pretty much alike. I used to think it was Elvis singing before I learned who it was. And the ironic part of it was that Elvis did a version of that song, too, lol. :)
Ohh, there's a band from Chicago, called The Shadows of Knight, that does a version of "Gloria," too. It's a really great rendition of it. :)

I realize the deadness of this thread too but I just had to mention ...
I got Tommy by The Who at Borders tonight, because they have been like my favorite band lately, and now my friend Tory and I are listening to it together ... except she's in Connecticut and I'm in Illinois. We're having a great time, lol. We're chatting about the pros and cons of each song. It's so fun.
Sorry, I just felt the need to mention that. And since this was the music thread, well, you know.
But yes. The Who are basically fabtastic. :)

Ah, The Who. Behind Blue Eyes is an all time favorite of mine. Limp Bisket redid it. I was very upset since they changed the best part!
Can't say I'm a Van Morrison fan, but I loved Jim Morrison and the Doors Bands are always so much better with the original members. When David left Van Halen and they became dubbed Van Haggar...I wasn't born. But I would have been VERY upset. I love Sammy Haggar, but he's no Diamond David Lee. They're touring! Who's praying for tickets for Christmas? *sticks up hand*

They changed it? Hmm. I was too upset by the fact that they had covered it to even give it a chance. Now I know that I definitely won't. "Behind Blue Eyes" is one of my very favorite Who songs.

The Limp Bizkit version is okay -- my friend Jake has it on a CD and I probably would have never heard it if he didn't -- but eh, there's some random futuristic part in it that just kind of makes me not like it that much, lol.
But, The Who's version is definitely the best. I heard it on the radio for the first time (their version) in November and I was like, "Who is this? This is really good!" :D

Van Halen.....yep, the husband wants to get tickets for the Philly show because it's early enough in the tour that they won't (or hopefully won't) break up by then!! LOL

They're last gig is here on the 11th of December. If they break up before then, I'm going to... Act very unladylike. *Nods*
