My dad has The Wall on DVD somewhere, and my brother was watching it one day. I stood off to the side and watched it for a while, but it seriously freaked me out. Lol. I never watched it again after that. D:

I haven't listened to them in so long, I can't even remember if they're any good. I never got deeply into them--I mostly skimmed the surface.

Well, the video is kind of freaky, but there's some deep meanings in there.

Random question, but I figured since this is the music thread, it's the place to ask, lol.
For any of you that have seen the movie Almost Famous -- do you happen to know the song that's playing on the main menu? You know, where it's just Penny Lane's face with the sunglasses and it says Play Movie and Special Features and all that?
Because I really like that song and I really wanna know what it's called -- if it even has a name, lol. :)

I've really got to watch that eventually, just to see what everybody's been talking about--and not just here.

I love Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots. The music video for "Jeremy" was number nine (I think) on muchmoremusic's list of fourty greatest music videos of all time.

Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bryan Adams (etc) and classical music *hardcore* lol. Mostly the romantics and early 20th C. But, like a lot of yous, I love pretty much every genre - with the possible exception of hardcore rap. Just been overloaded with it, and some of the non-music part really hard to take.

You know, where it's just Penny Lane's face with the sunglasses and it says Play Movie and Special Features and all that? I just put the movie on to check and it doesn't sound like any song I've heard. My guess would be that it's part of the score that was written by Nancy Wilson. BTW - I love that movie and own both the original and the Bootleg edition, Untitled, that has 40 extra minutes. I also wound up buying Joni Mitchell's greatest hits to get The River and Elton John's Honkey Chateau to get Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters since they weren't on the soundtrack. Cameron Crowe is great at matching music with his movies and I almost always buy his soundtracks even if I didn't really like the movie ( Elizabethtown - I hated that movie, lots of great music though).

Garbage, well, they're my favorite band. Their lyrics are REALLY deep and my sister likes to call them violent. And some of it may even be disturbing. But their lyrics are about stuff like eating disorders, self injury, androgyny(sp?), um same sex relasionships, parent problems. Basically I bunch of stuff about life. But I like them because I can relate to most if not all of it.

Wow, I'll have to look them up! I like deep music, especially songs that no one else seems to understand. Hehe, that's me being weird.

Mmmmmm Simon and Garfunkel....love them! I have this memory of my mom accidently melting one of their ALBUMS (yes vinyl!!) in the car in the summer heat! lol
The Eagles....one of my all-time faves.
st. elmo.....Skid Row IS my favorite....Sebastian is long gone but they're still alive and kicking with their new singer, Johnny Sollinger...in fact I just saw them last month for the millionth time!!! wooohoooo!!! And Garbage is cool....and whoever mentioned Hole.....I love Hole! And Singles....THAT soundtrack is AWESOME!!! Mother Love Bone's Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns is one of the best ever songs.
I think Queen Jane mentioned how the Wall freaked her out....it freaked me out, too, when I was about 15 and watched it in my creative writing class. Very disturbing and I still won't watch it.
Ok, I've rambled enough but this is a great topic!!! ;D

Ooh, I love XM. We have a bunch of XM stations on our television, because we've got DirecTV, which is satellite, and XM is satellite radio, so ... yeah. Lol. I listen to the Sixties station the most, of course. I also listen to the Fifties and Forties station sometimes (I must admit, I love Forties music; my brother and I think it's fabulous), and the Seventies station on occasion. I like The Village, too: it's all folk music, even though they say it's country, lol. ^_^ (I have to say, XM has way too many country channels ... like, WAY too many ... ) Well, it's basically impossible not to love Paul, lol. You take one look at him, and melt. Plus, he's uber talented. And even now, he looks great, and is so enthusiastic for his age (I saw him in concert in '05! He was amazing!). He definitely does not look or act sixty-five! :D The XM station we've been listening to is Sunny...if you have it on your direct tv check it out!!! Reminds me of my youth....before it was wasted! lol
