Those two were frikkin hilarious!!!
My favorites are the "Real Men Of Genius" Bud Light commercials. They are hysterical!
The beer gives me a headache but they do know how to advertise, that's for sure.

I love those Real Men of Genius commercials! I hear them on the radio when I'm in the car, and it always cracks me up!
I like that one for the Ortho Fire Ant killer, too----- 'Die, Fire Ants, Die' has been stuck in my head for days!

Hahahaha I heard the T-shirt launcher inventor one yesterday.
Did you know the background singer is the guy who sang "Eye Of the Tiger?"

Okay... so, I feel really guilty saying this, but the one thing that drives me crazy is when people just add your story to their favorite or alert list and you never see anything from them ever again. I mean, at the risk of sounding like a review whore... what the heck man? Obviously you liked what you read, and if you got such enjoyment out of it that you took the time and effort to add it to your stupid list then why not take two seconds to throw in a constructive review?? Whew... just had to get that out there. And, as a side note, I had no idea you could even reply to reviews. Now that I do, I feel like a mega-jerk with no manners and a lot of replying to do...

You know, it took some digging around for me to even figure out how people were adding stories to their favorites without leaving reviews ;D. I'm way behind on reviews, but yeah, if I'm going to favorite something (favorite as a verb, heheh) I leave a review. I know about the review reply feature, but I'm still behind in replying. Thank goodness the site remembers who I left off at, because I sure don't. I just go down the list until it tells me I left that person a reply already. Nothing like the internet to keep people from thinking cough*knowing*cough you have a hideous memory .

Hannie; I know how you feel, it really ticks me off too, but y'know what, I do the exact same thing to other people. ^-^;; Call me a hypocrite if you will, but sometimes I really like a story, and either I'm just really lazy and don't want to bother reviewing, or the person's already got about a hundred reviews already, and I think," What's my opinion going to matter?"

The only thing I really dislike about people who review are the ones who only read the first chapter and then skim some of the future chapters and then flame saying they didn't like it for such reasons that are actually explained later on in the story. It makes me think, if you can't read the story that's been posted why even review?
Another thing that bugs me is when people review and say you could fix such and such and such and don't make it a Mary-sue but they don't write they're own stories to show you how it could be done better.
It kinda goes hand in hand with my theory on voting, (sorry election primaries are tomorrow it's on the brain) if you don't vote then you can't complain about how things turned out because your vote may have been the one that would have changed it. If you don't write how does the author know you really know what you're talking about and haven't just heard it somewhere and it sounded like a good thing to say.
I mean look at a quote by Paul Newman, "Who's to say who's an expert?" I've also heard someone say 'Just because someone says they're an expert doesn't mean they are' There are some good writers out there but it doesn't mean they're word is law.
Some authors are going to write what they want no matter what anyone else says.
hope that made some sense.

You have some excellent points, texaskid. For what it's worth, though -- just because someone doesn't have stories posted doesn't mean they don't have a smidgen of an idea of where they speak, lol. I stopped posting stories a few years back, and not because I didn't want to or whatever, but that's just how it goes. However, I beta stories for a couple of authors, one who's in another fandom that hase literally thousands of people who read every chapter, and though I haven't written any of my own recently, I would like to believe I do have some knowledge of how it works. But, I completely agree with you -- if someone can't back up their theory, or for are well know are all talk and no action, then they should keep their degrading opinions to themselves.
About favorite authors -- to be honest, whether or not they leave a review, I think it's an honor to be put on someone's favorites list. I went back and looked at people who had us on their favorites list (and for some odd reason, still remain there, lol) and it blows my mind how many of them I remember having received more than one review from *shrugs*. I think it's great they put me on their favorites, though, and I cherish that for what it's worth. ... But, a review here and there doesn't hurt either, of course

I agree with both of you. On one hand it really ticks me off when someone tries to act all high and mighty without having the goods to back up their comments, but on the other you have to look at what the person wrote and see if I can take anything from it. Even some of the meaner reviews I've gotten I've been able to find at least one thing that the person said, whether they meant to or not, that's helped me improved. Shows them that even though they were tryign to bring me down, they really just helped bring me up. Or somethin' like that....
On that note- My grandfather is a Canadian citizen, but he leaves in the U.S. and everything, but he's always complaining about the president and how crappy America has been lately, and my parents always roll their eyes and go," Then why don't you vote against them- Oh wait, you're not a United Sates citizen! Stop complaining unless you're going to do something about it." The people in this part of Ohio seem to always complain though...

Another I'd like to add, is sometimes I honestly, truly think that I leave a review when I don't. Sometimes I'll start to read a story, decide I don't care for it, don't review, and leave it at that. Other times I'll review but I don't necessarily put that person on my alert list, even if I do like keeping up with the story. Of course, when this happens, sometimes I have to go back through THEIR reviews and find out what chapter I left off on... and sometimes I find that I never wrote a review, and then I feel bad and write one that time around. I do understand about not necessarily having the time either, because I've experienced that a lot -- and yet, when I try and justify myself by telling myself, "It's okay, you just don't have the time right now." I feel ridiculous, because I then think, "If I had ten minutes to just read that chapter, I can take another thirty seconds and review." Lol. But that's just me. I'm not always good at reviews, or even making them worth mine OR the author's time.

I don't think it bugs me that much that people will just add alerts instead of reviewing. I mean, at least I know they got something out of it. What annoys me is that FF.net sends you an e-mail if someone does. I know you can turn it off, but it doesn't work for me for some reason.
As for the "they don't post, how would they know?" point, I oppose that completely. I find those that don't post get a lot more reading in and know exactly what they want in a story. What bothers me is when they review and make it seem like they can write it better. Do it already, then! I'm not going to stand in your way. Lord, I'd love to see every one of my DV flamers write a brother story - at least we'd have something new to read!
Anyways, I feel a rant coming on. So I'll let it go.

Well, it seems the conversation has ended.
But anyway, I know this is off-topic, but have any of you ever met the FaceBrats (as I call the facebook fanbrats)? They are three times as illiterate and four times as stupid as any of the flamers on FF.net.
They just cannot come up with a decent point! They'll ignore everything you say, and go, "but oh well U hAV no liFFE!!!1"
Honest to God. On 'THE OUTSIDERS' facebook group. It'sscary, it's horrible, but it's real.
So I have been taking that stick outta my ass a either a.) repeatedly bashing the facebrats over the head with it, seeing if they'll get the message or b.) spearing 'em on it and roasting them over the campfire.
I'm going to post some of the little catfights I've had with the lovely CRM and SC ( see, I'm even being nice and keeping their names relatively private) on the Lost and Found thread. My friend got a really grotesque, twisted death threat once.
DHF out.
