Does anyone have any Outsiders fics laying around that aren't posted on ffnet?
A while ago, I used to write time-travel stories with some of my friends in it. These were ALWAYS on paper and no one would read them but my friends. There was certainly no way I'd post something embarrassing like that...
I always, always, always start writing one, then I just never get around to getting it on the internet. Sometimes I just don't like it enough, even though the storyline would seem interesting. Anyone know what I mean? I have an Evie and Steve story in my mind, and I must have wasted thirty pieces of paper to try and write the first chapter.
In that case, have you ever had an idea that'd be great, but never actually wrote it?

I was writing a story where a Soc girl named Maureen leaves home and becomes a correspondent in Vietnam for a small newspaper syndicate in San Francisco ... which is where it involved The Outsiders (aside from the Soc thing) -- Steve and Soda went there, as we know, and as a correspondent she gets assigned to one of their units.
I did post it but it didn't seem to be going over very well so I just scrapped it. And deleted the files from my laptop too, lol. I'm kinda sorry I did that now ... D:
Otherwise, the only other things are the "sequel" to the fic I'm writing now, and possibly a chaptered story about Steve and Soda in Vietnam, where each chapter switches off points of view. :)

*Chuckles*. About 60 % of the things I have written up to be posted have never made it. I just keep them and work on them for lack of anything else to do. They're all pretty much AU for my other stories, but there are a few original things on there that just sit and keep me company.
For example, there are "deleted scenes" as I call them which are cut chapters because they just pissed me off that day or they didn't fit what had to happen next. There are a few of my one shots continued, but hey. Why push a good thing?
See ya in the funny papers!!! Tens

Yep I've got two like that - 2 chapters of a story on Dallas and Sylvia, and 2 chapters of a post book story about Angela Shepard. I doubt I'll post either of them any time soon. Both the ideas interest me, I just don't have the time to put into it.

I've got three Outsiders fics started, mostly outlined, and waiting for me to get back to them. Every so often I go back and pick at them, but my original stories have been hogging most of my time, lol. What will probably happen is I will suddenly have the time, and the muse will stop by for a visit, and I'll pound out another three or four chapters. That happened when I wrote Someone to Watch Over Me (no longer posted) - I made notes on it in November and started the first chapter, but didn't get back to it until February. Once I did, the first draft was done in three weeks.
As far as having ideas, I get them all the time and know that I won't get to writing them down for a while. Sometimes I'll still jot down what the idea was, in case I ever have the time.
As far as wasting time or paper, no time that was spent writing was wasted time! Even if you ended up throwing it out or starting over, you did that because you progressed in some way, and it will/did come out better the next time around. ;D

I've got a couple - but I'm one of those that tends to not even pursue an idea unless I know I can - or rather will - write it. As several people can attest to, I have a horrible habit of starting things and never finishing them. I have the right intent, and I wish I was better at following through, but that's far from where I'm currently at. Lol. I used to be much better. I used to pump out a chapter or two a day, and that was when I was in school... nowadays, I'm lucky if I write a couple of paragraphs every couple of months.
But yes, essentially I do have things written and not posted, and probably never will be posted.

I have a ton of "Extras" - one lines, jokes, stories I can whip out, outlines, ideas, thoughts in a character - writing junk, lol. I have a number of one-shots as well that are either too Mary Sue, or too dirty to post on ffnet, lol. I've never written a chapter fic that didn't spawn out of a one-shot I posted, so no chapters-long, unposted, Outsiders work here.
Oh, I totally lied - I wrote a version of Twelfth Night involving the characters from the Outsiders. It DID NOT make the post cut, lol.

I have a few started chapters of ideas that I will probably never post. Mainly because I would hide from embarrassment. But most of the Outsiders stuff I write, I post.

I have a file on my work computer that has a bunch of lines, not necessarily pertaining to any story, but thought-provoking ideas. Honestly, the mostly come from dreams. I swear, 2 or 3 times every week I wake up with some thought or line coursing through my brain. So I write it down. Then I try to develop something around it, and mostly it fails, so I just have a file of lines.

I do writing down lines too, sometimes entire scenes that just don't fit into anything but I liked the idea of.

I have a bunch of ideas I haven't gotten around to yet. Mostly because I usually write one thing at a time. Same...only I'm writing 2 right now.

I have two random one-shots just sitting in my computer, along with the first chapter to a story I haven't posted. They don't really seem up to par yet.

Yeah. I have like Five million oneshots just floating around in my writing folders. A lot of them are unfinished and ever if they are finished, I haven't uploaded them. Lol. They're wasting my space too. I feel like a writing pack rat or something.

Good Lord, yes. I currently have a notebook with a ton of unfinished scenes in it for an unposted Steve story I've been toying with for 2 months, along with 2 complete oneshots, and 2 unfinished oneshots. The only one of these I might even consider posting is one about Dally and Tim convincing Curly to break into an alarmed car. (I was feeling very spontaneous when I wrote it.)
Sometimes I get frustrated when I look at the notebook, so I open it, grab a pen and try to keep writing but I feel pathetic that it's not flowing like the first time I was writing it, so I scratch it out. Does anyone else have this issue?

Does anyone else have this issue? I often stall partway into a story, but have realized that if I set it aside for a while and work on something different, the other story will pop back into my head out of nowhere and demand that I work on it, hahaha. Dang stories, keeping their own schedules and making demands at oddball times. Kind of like my kids .
