The only new-ish movies I've watched recently were 21 (VERY, VERY good, btw. Screw the reviews), August Rush, and Dan in Real Life (for the fourth time). Rock bought me Dan in Real Life for my birthday... I found out later that my mom had bought it for me for Christmas, early. .. Oh well. She'll find something to do with it All three of those movies are incredible and if you haven't seen them yet, I highly recommend them all.

I adored 21! Jim Sturgess did a good job sounding American (for the most part, but he sort of slips in places) and the whole money-in-his-underwear thing was... um... funny? Interesting? xD
But people keep telling me it's racist... I don't understand how 21 is a racist movie when there wasn't anything to imply it. When I asked they said the main was supposed to be Asian or something, but it's only inspired by Bringing Down the House... not based-on. So they can stray from the book but people have been presenting that logic, and other still say 'hey, let's boycott it'.
I agree with Keira, though. Screw the reviews, you should see it

How weird! I've never read the book, or had heard of it before the watching the movie, but I still don't see how that makes it racist. Hmmm. Do you know what else the Sturgess guy was in? He's CUTE. I had no idea he wasn't American, so I guess he did a damn good job with his accent, lol. I had a funny dream the night after I watched it, in which one of my friends was counting cards and I was SO afraid she was going to get beaten up ::nods:: That stuff is scary after a while. To me anyway.

Sturgess was in... Across the Universe. He played Jude... although by the end he looks like shit, like he hasn't washed his hair or anything in a really long time but that's just my opinion. Most of what I've heard about the movie is really good and I think it's a decent movie as long as you bear in mind they aren't trying to re-create The Beatles' songs, just doing covers.
After seeing 21 I was really tempted to learn to play Blackjack so I did... and then I beat my younger brother. Which is strange considering I'm awful at math and he's really good... I was counting on my fingers the whole time XD

To but in on this 21 discussion, I was watching the peviews for it and having a big deja vu moment. Finally my Dad told me why - it's a remake of a Canadian movie. So maybe that has something to do with the racism thing. *shrugs*
Recently, I have seen few new movies in the theatre. We saw Enchanted at the cheapy theater a week before it came out, and that was about it.
But I did get a lot of movies for my birthday. 3:10 To Yuma (great, if confusing), I am Legend (Really great, if sad, remake of The Omega Man), and 300 (Which was visually amazing - naked Gerard Butler...Who wouldn't like that?).
As for TV, we are on basic cable now, which sucks. I was really into this one show on AMC. It's called Braking Bad. Basically this Chemistry teacher finds out he has lung cancer and about 3 months to live since they can't afford Chemo. Anyways, he's got a baby on the way and a 16 year old disabled son, a sister in law who's a nurse and a brother in law who works for the Police in narcotics. So naturally, he decides to put away a nest egg for his family by cooking Crystal Meth with one of his old drop out students. Basically, nothing is ever as simple as it seems and Mr. White and Jesse have a few interesting adventures...
I watch a lot of FOX. 2 and a half men is a big favorite, and New Amsterdam is fantastic. Aside from that, we try to catch House, Bones and NCIS. Like that ends up happening...
Anyways, speaking of slow, I need to get dessed and be in class in twenty minutes for an exam. So Bon Jour!

Lol, well before it was a "Canadian movie" it was a real life story turned into a book. Rock saw a documentary on it the other day, so that's how I know as much. I knew it was based on a book, but I didn't know the book was based on a true story. I still highly recommend it to anyone reading this *nods*.

And we've died down yet again.
Summer isn't coming fast enough, I say. It snowed here last weekend, and the temperature dropped down to what it was back in December, and we had snow on the ground for a few days. By the first, though, it was gone and only now is it finally starting to almost-warm up again. It hasn't been officially WARM yet this year, but it's getting there. It's actually chillier inside my house than it is outdoors, which is nice. Erm... well, for the few moments of the day that I'm outside. But anyway, it now LOOKS like summer weather but certainly hasn't quite reached that heat... *sighs* just one more month...

And we've died down yet again. Hahahah, I was thinking the same thing. Need to get some more conversations going around here. Will work on that. I think one of the things is that a bunch of us are on the site at different times, so there isn't a real quick post/reply speed. With our weather, I'm convinced somebody is toying with us. And, it's spring. HAHAHA, just kidding!!! Snow! Ice! Annnnd, spring again, nice and warm and . . . PSYCHE! HAHA, cold and rainy! Suckers!!! And on that note, are any of you aware that the natural shade of the sky is not, in fact, a dull steel gray? Not only is it blue, but - and don't be afraid here - there is a great big shining orb in the sky making things bright and keeping us warm. Go figure! I swear to God! I saw it just yesterday.

This spring break has been awful, snowy, cold, rain (for once here it rained. I miss rain...) and then today it was sunny. Real sunny. The weather here is on serious drugs, I swear.
It shouldn't be snowing in April.

Texaskid; How true! How I hate Ohio weather ... -you look outside, the sun is shining brightly, and you go to take a step on the lawn and BAM! your feet are soaked in mud and rain water-
Keira; I feel like such a traitor, but I've actually been spending all of my Internet time reading Supernatural fan fiction. Hopefully I'm just taking a temporary break from The Outsiders fandom. -I better be, I just started a multiple chapter story for it ... -

Haha, don't feel like a traitor! I'm ashamed to admit it, but I don't read Outsiders fanfiction all that often. While I'm really interested in it, I've been more invested in Harry Potter fanfics recently
Liz -- I totally almost saw the sun through the clouds today. That made me think about how amazing it was that we could still get light through all of these clouds... I wish it would clear up again *Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*

I feel like such a traitor, but I've actually been spending all of my Internet time reading Supernatural fan fiction... - Ah, Sharp. Welcome to my world...
As for this Ohio talk, we have a similar saying in Alberta - The only place you can get Heat Stroke and Hypothermia all in the same day. The weather has been "gorgeous". Bah. I like snow. Now the apartment is too hot with the patio closed and too cold with it open. Bah...Stupid Lethbridge.
Keira - I know it was based on a true story. I thought it was more important to point out Canadian superiority on finding that one first.
Now onto exciting things. After two big deaths in my random exteded family, my uncle Carson is visiting along with my uncle Dover and my uncle Bran. I was told to go back to school and here I am while they're enjoying some time together back at home. Meanwhile, I am loosing my mind in this stupid town. Seriously, the University ate it. I was so frustrated yesterday it wasn't even funny. School is done Monday, then exams. Can't wait. So Carson invited me home this weekend, despite the fact he doesn't even own the house anymore. Oh well, Im sure my dad will have to put up with me. *shrugs* I get to go home. It all worked out. Coming back will be the hard part. Stupid school. April 21st - me and the plant are packing up the stereo, some clothes, and the computer then we're hitting the road and not coming back until September.
In more recent news, about 6 hours ago my kid brother was in his first car accident in my truck - worse, in Jhon's truck (Insert music of DOOM! Yeah, those of you who know Jhonny would appreciate that one...). Don't worry, Dodge is fine. My kid brother will be fine until I get a hold of him. So far the only damage was done to the van he backed into across the street because he was in a hurry to get somewhere and wasn't watching. Moron. So my dad'll pay for it and hold it over his head. On the plus side, I get my truck back and he's grounded until he turns eighteen in like 3 months. He so made my week all that much better...seriously, smiling!
Yeah...And that's a wrap. It's 3 AM - bed time in Tensland.
Night!

Wow! Poor truck! I know how much that thing means to you guys... I'm glad to hear the punk is okay, too. It'd be kinda sad if there were three random deaths instead of just the two. Not that two isn't two more than necessary anyway...
