You should try to go!!! Make it a little mini vacation...that's the kind of stuff I do for shows. We went to Ozzfest during our honeymoon! We scheduled our trip to pass through one of the places it was at and we stayed over two days and then went on with the rest of our vacation. It was so fun!!

I'd love to, but I'm still making up from my vacation last month - I haven't had a properly filled bank account since, and I probably won't for another few months, lol. I'm still thinking about it though. Now if they weren't doing THREE shows in Englewood, CO, and maybe did one in Vegas or something, I could totally do that. But no, they're insisting on staying as far away from me as they can. Lol.
I saw Linkin Park just before I turned sixteen (sounds so long ago to me, as I'm now twenty) and they were absolutely amazing. By far the best show I've ever been to. I really want to see My Chemical Romance too though *Anquished groan* I'll have to survive without them though... unless I come into some money that I didn't know was coming my way, in which case I'd totally splurge and go But that's highly unlikely to happen.
UPDATE:
I hope you're happy, fosterchild... I just talked to my cousin about visiting her AGAIN next month to go to the the concert... Lol. You're making me think it's okay to spend money! Bad bad! *Hangs head* And yet, I'm sure I'll be very grateful if it all comes together. Lol.

I'm a very bad influence....but here's how I look at it: You can always make more money....how many times are you going to be able to see the bands you want to see??? Ya gotta spend it wisely! As for them staying as far away from you as possible, a restraining order is just another way to say 'I love you!' LOL

Haha, too true. We still have to see. That same week I'm supposed to be out of town at my grandparents 60th anniversary surprise party, but I was planning on asking my eldest brothers if they wanted to head back early so we could pick up a couple extra days of work, as opposed to hanging around with our extended family for an entire week *gun to head*
But spending money, instead of going back to work, would sort of defeat the purpose of going home early, wouldn't it? However, if I happened to get my student loan and grants early, then it might just be feesable. We'll see. Lol.

It sure didn't feel like summer here today, lol. Seriously, it was in like the lower 60s. I didn't like it. Definitely not what late-June weather in Chicago is like, let me tell ya ...
Although in some ways it was a relief from that scorching humid weather we've had for the past two days.
It's supposed to be in the 70s tomorrow, and it better warm up significantly for the Rib Fest on Saturday, or I am going to be pissed. D:

Haha, too true. We still have to see. That same week I'm supposed to be out of town at my grandparents 60th anniversary surprise party... That'd be funny if your grandparents were reading the site every day. "Woohoo, they're throwing us a party!" ;D Okay, not funny for Keira. Not. Funny. Well, maybe just a little. Just because I know you'd laugh.

I'm just so happy that baseball and school are over, and we (the kids and I) can hang out and go for walks and bike rides and in the inflatable pool, etc. etc.
As far as actual plans - Rush, tomorrow night, Saratoga Performing Arts Center. This is very exciting, as we haven't been to a concert since...er...1997? And haven't seen Rush since Counterparts, in Philadelphia. Completely missed their last tour.
Beyond that, I'll be in New Jersey the third week of July, and my sister and nephews will be coming up here for a week in August. In between we'll have some one-day hiking trips, a little fishing, Jack and Rich have Cub Scout camp, and we'll probably go to my in-laws' lake house a couple of times.

Wow, Liz, you sound like you're so busy this summer!
I would love to go to the Rush concert. They're actually coming here (since very few people do anymore, it's almost a shock to me) in August - I believe - and my boss is going to it. He's the biggest Rush fan - probably as big as Rich and Kurt, haha. I never even heard of Rush before Kurt's love for them, but I really do like their music now. I only have a few of their CDs, not including the new one, but what I've heard so far is really good.
Yeah, if my grandparents knew how to turn on a computer I *Brace yourself for the Two-Bit cliche* would die of shock. They probably know enough to go to do geneology at the lab near their home and that's about it. Bless them. Lol. But, you know, unless I'm mistaken they're both 80 this year (my grandma already is... again, unless I have the year wrong. In which case they're 79, but I'm 99.9% sure they're 80.) and yeah.
It was brought to my attention last night that every single one of my aunts and uncles and cousins, as well as my family, that is coming down for the event, is staying in my grandparents 3 bedroom home. Yup. Don't know how that's going to work, but I'm sorely tempted to call up a few pals I have down there and beg to come stay at their place instead. Lol. It's between that and camping out in the backyard. I don't have anything against camping - infact I like it - but not in the middle of the city. Lol.

We just got back from a drive from Massachusetts to Georgia with the 4- and 6-year old. We did the Georgia Aquarium, Stone Mountain, Montecello and Sesame Place. Something for everyone!! LOL We also hung out with my aunt and uncle, which was cool.

Nice! That sounds like a lot of fun. I've never been to Massachusetts, but I've been to the Atlanta airport twice... okay, so that's not exactly having experienced Georgia, but it's something.... right? Lol.

Still cold here, still raining/cloudy and still no summer. I am so not impressed. Boo-urns. I get there June 2nd. I'll bring you some sunshine. *wishing hard* It's just not fair that the land of beaches should not have beach weather. For the past week, Ottawa's been sweatshirt weather, too. What is up with the sun these days?! Nevermind. Is okay. Canada day tomorrow to bring us all outta the funk our country's weather gets us in. Time to celebrate the Canadian way! (Beer.)

Not to bore people with our weather here... but it's been so sweltering hot, it's kind of miserable. Even inside air conditioned buildings it's miserable. And it's dry heat, so nothing to help you breathe a little. It's been an average of 95-102 Farenheit the last couple of weeks... which isn't terribly uncommon for the summer here, but that's usually August weather, not June.
Miraculously, I have only had three nose bleeds due to the dry heat. I usually average one every other day in the summer, but I've discovered a trick in preventing them. Go me!
But really, Tens can testify that I get offline early some nights for the mere fact that I can't stand the heat anymore and have to retreat to my basement bedroom, even though that isn't a whole lot better until about 3 AM.
I could almost do with a day of freezing rain just go cool off the atmosphere a tad. I don't like cold weather, but this is just ridiculous.

It POURED here last night. I was thrilled. I got so much writing done in the garage! So updates might be an option when I get some typing done...damn computers not automatically transcribing my bad printing....
Aside from that, it's been hot here. Not too bad, kind of muggy. Yesterday was funny. I left my ham and cheese sandwich in the car all morning. By the time lunch came the cheese was melted. I got some snickers from the gals at work.
"You do know there's a fridge in the coffee room, right?"
Yeah...doesn't mean I'm awake enough to remember to put it there....or be driving to work, but hey. Oh well.
