It occurs to me that there has been nothing posted over here since Ash offered us all a Happy Easter, so here's something new!
One of our moderators, Ryker, has been working diligently for the past few days on setting up an Outsiders - and forgive me if this is the wrong term - RPG game. She's been teaching me about it, and it seems like an interesting thing to try out.
So if you are interested in that kind of thing, or just want to learn something new, or want to come on over to make me look less dense, or just watch me be that dense...well, you get the picture!

Looks like fun. How do you pick a character? Should I just register as that character, or does somebody need to know first? I was leaning toward Ponyboy, and as far as I can tell he's not taken yet, but I didn't want to just register using that name without asking first  . |

Oooh it does sound fun. I'd so do it. I wanted to be Two-Bit so bad... (can't you tell he's my favorite from my name?) but I see he's been taken... Darn... Okay, Steve is my next choice; I'll go ahead and register and see where that takes me.

Well! I take off for one little movie, and look at everything going on! Glad everyone is so interested in the idea!
I know Liz discovered the answer for her question, because I have been checking out the other board tonight, but for those who would like to know the answers, well away we go:
If you have a character in mind, check the members' list and see who everyone has signed up as - note that you can sign up under one name and be displayed as another if we have a mix up. There are no big oops moments that cannot be fixed! Well, unless it's outside the board, then you have some fixing of your own to do.
Once you've seen who all's taken, pick fast! We'll mark you off on the board. I just updated it as of right now, so it's up to date!
Easy as pie! But if there are any more questions, I am full of answers. Well, relating answers, since I have no idea what the square root of Pi is or when Caesar Chavez was born.

I didn't look carefully enough at the character list to see that Bob was included, so now I'm thinking I should switch to him. Could be a fun challenge. And yeah, I know, I'm being a pain ;D. So if Bob shows up and Ponyboy goes away, that's what happened.

Well I caught Steve! I was a little upset Two-Bit was taken but I'm good now. Steve is different and could be fun.
I was about to choose Bob, but I felt like no one would talk to me if I were him; not many people like him (nor Leif Garrett).
I do have a question though. I've noticed there is a certain amount of characters. What if all of the characters are taken, do you create a new one, like a Shepard boy or a Brumly boy, maybe a girl at their school?

Well, that is an excellent question we actually talked about today. We will allow some OC's, but Ryker is adamant that if you create a character, no Mary Sues. Since she's the boss, I'm going with it.
Anyways, as of right now, we still need a Randy, a Sylvia, a Johnny Cade and a Tim Shepard. There's also Paul Holden, if anyone wants to take him on. But we have opened up the option of members even playing more than one character, if they want to set up an OC - we're flexible, apparently - who woulda guessed with how uptight and tryanical we are over here at WSOTT  .
Personally, Two-Bitty, I would love to see some Brumleys, Tigers, and Kings - Oh my! (haha, sorry, couldn't resist). In fact, from the tone of the board so far, I think we could use some OCs to break up the core characters a little. They probably won't want to party together all the time!
But over all, everyone seems to have taken to the idea well and there's a great feeling that everyone is having fun, but I'm thinking that there is always room for more adventures! And we need our Socs to get going!
So fun fun. And I'm really having a blast, if you couldn't tell! So anyone who has yet to click on the link, click! I'll try to keep a better eye on this thread here, as well, so feel free to ask questions and I'll check back on it around noon (Mountain time) tomorrow.

I'm glad everyone is having fun! I haven't been to the forum in a while with everything that I've had going on in my life, but I do look forward to catching up with the adventures over there!
Oh, and writersblock242, I totally agree with you about David. I think it is the barely mentioned characters you can have the most fun with. That's why I so put my dibbs on Buck, much to Ryker's surprised look. There's so much room to play when you have so few rules, eh?

I would have picked a less known character, Tens, but Steve caught my eye. My only problem is trying to keep him in character. Half of the time, I feel like he's out of character when I play him. But that's just me.
And my OC William is having such a hard time trying to find a gang. Hahaha. He's in Detention with Two-Bit, at the Nightly Double with some Socs, and is going to crash a beer blast with Curly Shepard. He is a fun character, though. I might just write a fanfic with him in it. (hopefully he won't be like Michael from 'Grease 2')

Ha. Sorry. I dumped Cindy and now I'm working on a character in my fic and I'm going to add her as an OC on the board instead. Greaser girl of course. BTW I think Steve's in character and I love talking to him |

William didn't want Cindy. He was just trying to make you (David) angry or something. He likes to mess with people. And he doesn't have a beef with David. Again, he just likes messing with people. I think William is leaning towards Marcia, but then there's Randy who'll probably beat the shit out of him. Dallas already beat the shit out of him just for looking at Sylvia.
BTW, We still need a Randy! I might choose him as a third if no one else will.
Oh, and I think William found a gang, that is, if Tens(Danny) will accept him as a River King.
