That one is actually her alternate ending to one of the TV series episodes - He Was a Greaser, Only Old. I think she did a great job writing Ponyboy's voice. Blew me away, hahah. Take a look if you get a chance.
The sequel, which stands on its own if you know one thing about how the first story ended (SPOILER ALERT!!!) - Ponyboy is sent to a military training camp for nine weeks in the summer. The camp is run by Marines. Very VERY well written. This woman really knows what she is doing. I contacted her to ask what else she writes, lol, and it turns out she is an as-yet-unpublished romance writer. So definitely worth a read, whether or not you read the first one.
