I was just posting to another thread that asks about your name on ff.net...and I ended up talking about my favorite characters so I got the idea in my head to post this.
Who is your favorite character? And expanding on the topic, do you think you write about your favorite character the most in your fanfictions? And lastly, who is the character you relate to most?
To answer my own questions, my favorite characters are Sodapop and Ponyboy. I have written about Sodpop and Ponyboy the most, I don't think I've written aout anybody else,r really. And I have no idea hich character I relate to most

Hah. I agree with Artemis on that one  I really like Steve, but I'm not sure if I do write him well or not. I try my best but sometimes I feel he's kind of a hard character to grasp. But I DO write him in most of my fanfictions. |

Dally is my favourite character in the book. Tim is my favourite character to write - closely followed by Curly who is so much fun, why don't more people write him?? lol.
The only other one I've written is Ponyboy, and he is really hard to write.
...I forgot my little one shot in the song fic rumble - Johnny's pov. Which was by far the hardest to write.

Exactly, he is so easy to get out of character (and of course no one could ever get him exactly in character other than Susie herself) but it makes me really nervous writing him. For some reason it seems worse to get him out of character than anyone else, yet it's also so easy to get him wrong. I think thats why I neglect his plotline a bit in my fanfic, his chapters take 3 times as long to write as the others.

I love Darry, so I write him the most. I can get into his head, I can understand him, and he's easy to get across in my writing. I love Steve, too, but I tend to neglect him in my writing because he and Pepsi aren't so agreeable and I write Pepsi more.
In fact, I write a lot of OC stuff...
So, there's my two bits on the subject.

My favorite characters are Soda and Two-Bit. I also have a major soft spot for Dally, but there isn't much I do with him, regarding stories and whatnot.
I tend to write in both Soda and Pony's POV. I don't know why, but I find Pony easy to write. I know I'm in the minority here, but I just do. *Shrugs*
As for who I relate to... I think I answered this elsewhere... but to be honest, I don't remember who I said. It changes all the time. It changes with my mood/life situations/whatever. I currently relate to Two-Bit. I've sat back and been an observer to many things this year, and I try to add a little bit of comic relief when I can. Whether or not I succeed, I'm not sure, lol.

Well, as for relating for characters I think I relate to Ponyboy more. I like to just sit and think and then I love reading. I can just zone out while reading.

And lastly, who is the character you relate to most? i'm not sure i lean toward a "fav" when it comes to the characters...i really like most of them...once i start trying to pick i'm like "well, i think i like this one the most" and then "well, i really do like him, too" and then "oh yeah, him too"...etc secondly, to date, i haven't written an outsiders fanfic [mostly i've stuck to lord of the rings and hellraiser] but i do plan on it. the character i relate to the most...well, i'm not really sure who i relate to the most, but the character who i'm most like is two-bit, hands down. we're both really funny, goofy people who are kinda laid back, messy, and like to drink. i have a dash of ponyboy in me [for the love of reading and learning] but it's mostly two-bit. |
