Is it just me or is it hard to "write Johnny" when doing a pre-novel fic? If others have trouble, could you give us tips on how to "write Johnny" better?

Have him play pinball, no one ever mentions that he plays pinball.
That doesn't help much, I'm sorry.

I'm always wondering about Johnny myself. I mean, the guy can't just only get beat up and hang in the lot or on the Curtis' couch, can he???

He plays pinball? I don't even remember that - maybe it's time to reread the book.
He is really hard to write. He is apparantly suicidal (he mentions killing himself twice from memory) so writing someone like that without making him too angsty or depressing is hard. I would be inclined to show him with some amount of internal anger - it is said that suicide is the ultimate act of violence.

Now that is an interesting thought, jrc. It would probably make a good pre-novel fanfic...
