Lol, okay, this topic might sound a little ego-inflating. But, as incredibly useful it is to acknowledge our faults and learn from them, and worry about them, and worry about the possible ones coming up, and the many, many pitfalls to avoid... Anyway, once in awhile you just need a little encouragement, even if it just comes from yourself. So, what do you *like* most about your own writing, guys? And don't you dare say: "nothing". Personally, I like my jokes. I'm funnier on paper, I think - it's easier to get the funnies out eloquently without your tongue getting in the way.

Oh, pretty much everything.
Just kidding.
Hmm...this is gonna take me forever to post. I guess I like my ideas, it's just staying in character that throws me off. While I'm writing, I always come up with new ideas to add on. Sometimes I'd be watching a movie or something and get this amazing plot-line for a fic, but I don't use half of them.
Yeah...I'd say my ideas.

This is a hard one...
I find it so much easier to be critical - but it's good to try and think about what I do like...*thinks*...
I like most of the converstions that I write.

Well... I like... maybe... Heh, this is hard. This is not the thread for me, the queen of self-criticism.
It really depends, but... I suppose that I write dialogue well--at least, I've been told so. And I'm excellent at writing consistent characters, somehow, and making them seem very realistic. I'm creative, apparently... so... Maybe the flow? How I can usually write something that's not awkward? I have no idea. I've grown as a writer a lot, and I'm much prouder of what I've been writing lately than what I wrote last year, but still...
See, if this were a thread about what we like about other people's writing, then we wouldn't be having trouble. We would admire, envy, and get some great tips.
Cheers, perhaps...

Must I answer? This is actually really hard. I think...I like my plots. Most of the time, anyway. And yes, how sad that we can criticize ourselves so much and have a hard time coming up with just one thing we like the most about our stories.

Huh, a toughie...
I'm not sure what it is about my own writing that I like. I just find it easy to read, you know? Its got a certain Je ne sais quois that is addictive to put on paper and just as appealing to read over and over again. Anyone else do that? I'm not quite sure actually, maybe I'm just a narcissist? Wouldn't that be funny...
If anyone wants to help me out here, I think my foot is getting tired of being chewed on...
See ya in the funny papers!!!

I'm the same, I like to read my own writing for the most part. I guess there would be no point in writing if I didn't. It can be fun reading back on it after a while, although I usually find massive gaps of logic or continuity and wonder how on earth I missed them lol.

I love re-reading stuff. Especially old stuff that you can look at with a completely fresh view. I'm probably guilty of doing it way too much, though. I heard somewhere that you really shouldn't reread your own writing, but, I've never really cared for the cut and dry rules.
By the way, just thought I'd mention that I'd agree with all the things people are saying about themselves. Keep up the positive thinking; it's good for us.

I like the fact that I get an idea and then I grab a pen and the story just comes out. Of course, that doesn't happen as often as I'd like considering I've only completely finished a few things I've written but I like that once I have an idea I can get it down pretty quick and fairly nicely.

To be honest, I think I like the disclaimers most about my writing! That or the plot lines.

Considering I haven't written anything creative since October, maybe September... I'd say maybe my descriptive abilities. Being able to describe a process or a scene is something that's applicable in SO many different areas, so I find it really useful when I'm writing, say, a research paper, and I'm able to provide details for a theory in my own words... it also helps to be able to make them as concise and interesting as possible, but I haven't completely mastered that (yet).
