Ha, I only saw part of that movie, but Tommy Howell played a crazy character. When he jumped up yelling and shooting his gun, I had to laugh because all I could imagine was Ponyboy doing that. -.-;;

Oh! I LOVE Red Dawn! Not the movie, or the plot, or the content, or the themes behind it....
So what did I like?
Bill!
Yes, none of you are surprised I see. But damn. How many of your favorite actors can play both cowboys and Russians?
Man, I want to learn Russian after watching Bill spout it off. He played one of the Russians, which I thought was awesome. He used to teach Russian at UCLA. He had a mustache, but damn, he pulled that off, too. It was pretty much orgasmic to listen to him talk.
And he had so much fun with the roll! You know, if he was about 50 years younger... *sigh* oh well.
In short, Red Dawn was ok in my books.

In short, Red Dawn didn't make it very high in my books. Lol. There's nothing like watching Darry and Ponyboy... Erm, I mean... those other two people... dying on a park bench at the end of a psycho movie, but it didn't do much for me I'm afraid. I did rather enjoy watching Ponyboy... erm, the other boy... going loose on that helicopter with his machine gun, though. Heh.

Red Dawn wasn't a favourite of mine. I found the plot to be far too patriotic. It was an unlikely scenario and they could have worked with it to make it a better movie. In short, it was a product of the times I do not understand.
And it would have been far easier to watch without Tens squeaking every time William Smith came on the screen.

As...unrealistic and slightly ridiculous as Red Dawn is, I've seen it about five times. I love to watch it while on road trips. As a guy I once knew said, "It's a goofy movie" but it has Patrick Swayze and Tommy Howell in it, which just makes my day.

I have the movie and what I thought was funny was that they were grabbing a bunch of sodas and a football. Shouldn't you bring more water and bandages and a bunch of other useful stuff?
