As a reader, the POV does not matter to me as much as the quality of the story. As long as the story is well written, I'm along for the ride! So, for me, having inside knowledge or being blind like the protagonist can be equally exciting.

I'm with them....and you're a talented writer so I'm sure it won't take away from the excitement of your story.

Unless you're in the role of a thriller detective, I agree. Go with whatever flows the best.

I try mine from several POV's, and post the one that works into the story the best. One that moves the plot, and keeps the flow steady is the one that goes in. The rest are junked into my Trash File for future reference.

So, for me, having inside knowledge or being blind like the protagonist can be equally exciting. I totally agree. When your as bling as the protagonist, you can figure out things as you go along. One example comes to mind is a murder mistery. I wouldn't be fun if you had the scene with the muderer killing whoever killed the person in the book, would it? Sorry if I didn't make too much sence...I don't think I did...

All of the fics I have up at ffnet so far are in the third person POV. I did a first person one shot for Steve a little while ago and while it was okay, I just felt it wasn't up to the standard I wanted so it isn't up. I prefer third person, but love reading a well written first person. I like to explore other people's feelings and reactions, rather then just sticking to one character so like using multiple third person. Another Illusion

First Person POV is the easiest for me to write since I can put my feelings into it, also.
I more or less try to 'become' the character, and sometimes it actually works.

I also enjoy 1st person POV when writing, but when it comes to reading, I don't mind the omniscient point of view. I think it adds an element of suspense to a story when you know something a character doesn't and you're waiting for it to happen. It's sort of like asking if you enjoy reading "the outsiders" a second time, knowing what's going to happen.

Depending on what is going on in the story I like to write in first. I can actually feel what the character is feeling and pour that into what I'm writing. I think it's the POV I'm best at, personally.

I always write in First Person. I can't be objective enough to do Third Person.

When it comes to the Outsiders, I can never manage third person. I also have to use the tense that the story was written in. So, with the Outsiders, it's always first, although I use various characters. On the other hand, I can never write my National Treasure fanfics in first person, or else it'll sound weird. (Have you ever tried writing in Riley Poole's pov??? Awkward!)

i usually write first person, in any fanfic, but i've also written third person as well, it's not that difficult for me, it's just a preference. sometimes, if i'm writing in first person, i'll switch pov to another character [always letting the reader know of the switch].

I like writing in first person. For me, it's easier, and it also sounds better. When I write in third person, I don't think it's all that good.

Right now I am trying my first third person story and it is hard. You just can't relate things as well since you have no narrator. You also have to watch the slips of "I" and "We". I'm not sure I like being so separated from my characters. I feel left out of my own story! Weird...
However, I am not picky when it comes to reading. Let it be any POV, I'll deal with it. If the writing is good and the story is engaging, then I can definitely get into it.
