This has been in the making for quite a while (aka, seven months) and is just about done, but ready enough to put out there for everyone to see and use. We have created a fanfiction site for The Outsiders. It works as fanficton.net does, however its centered around The Outsiders and other SE Hinton related fanfiction. The temporary URL to that site is: wsotta.freehostia.comSoon it will be found at www.wrong-side-of-the-tracks.com. If anyone out there can help me figure out how to attach the name (I've tried and tried and tried to no avail) I would kiss your feet and love you forever. And ever. I hope everyone enjoys it! Keira

I spent half the night emailing a tech support guy over at freehostia about the links and I think something went wrong with our configurations. It should be back up and running anytime now. They're usual response time to my inquiries takes about 10 minutes max. *Crosses fingers* This is turning out to be a nightmare almost, lol. It was working all day yesterday, all day before that... every day for the last seven months. Now that I've tried to hook up the real domain name/URL, it's gone wacky.
They told me it's been registered to another account, though they won't tell me which one -- which is extremely frustrating as I've owned the dang URL for a year and a half now, lol. That problem, among others...
It's very frustrating as I just told everyone about it yesterday and now it's not working. That's just my luck.

Haha, I sure as heck am trying to get it working. I'm over at Rock's right now trying to get the programs on her computer to get it sorted out. This is just my luck, haha.

Now, the real domain --- www.wrong-side-of-the-tracks.com -- is working, but it's still coming up with the same error message.
Trust me when I say I've been working on figuring out the problem since I woke up this morning. *Nods* I definitely didn't feel like doing any homework today *Shakes head*.
UPDATE:
They've fixed the problem and it should be operational in approxmiately 30 minutes!

And YET another update, lol.
The first thing the tech guy tried didn't work. Neither did the second. This was his third message to me: Hello,
Finding a solution of your problem requires a consultation with our administrators. I have forwarded the issue to them and I will send you our answer as soon as I receive their instructions.
If you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to ask. Meanwhile just wait for my next response.
Best Regards
So, for now I guess we'll just have to sit back and wait. I'll keep you all updated on the issue as information is made available to me.

IT'S WORKING AGAIN!
Don't know what they did, or how they fixed it, but the temporarily URL of wsotta.freehostia.com is working again. The other (which was working for a short while) is not, but it's being worked on now.

It was brought to my attention that for some reason no one was able to submit a story unless they were a validated Admin, so I made everyone a Level 4 admin for now, meaning that you are able to post stories. You'll have other "Admin" things show up like the option to edit comments and News and stories and whatever, but we've made the decision to make that only the option of the Author of the story and Tens, Liz, and I.
I've submitted a question to the people who designed the site dynamics, asking how to make it simpler for everyone else, and I should receive an answer soon.
As for the W-S-O-T-T.com URL, I'm still waiting on freehostia's administration to figure out what's gone so wrong in the first place. At least they have the site back online as of now, lol.

The site looks great, Keira . I have a couple of questions, so I'll post them here for other members' reference: 1. Under "Edit Preferences", I have no idea what this - "Use tinyMCE WYSWYG editor" - or "skin" mean. I most definitely have skin, but I don't think that's what it's asking ;D. 2. Under the "Edit Bio" section, there's an option to check "yes" or "no" for "Beta-reader." Is it asking if I need a beta reader, or if I am willing to offer my services as a beta? Thanks, Keira! Liz

As for the W-S-O-T-T.com URL, I'm still waiting on freehostia's administration to figure out what's gone so wrong in the first place. I'm imagining a big room with a flashing red light and blaring sirens going off, and military-type people are saying things like, "We've almost narrowed down who set the launch sequence, it's just a matter of figuring out how they managed to get into the system..." And the folks at freehostia are going, "Huh, I wonder what all of this jibberish is?"

Haha, you just made my morning, Liz.
At freehostia they have two different tech guys I have been working with. One named Viktor, who has been nothing but curteous and lovely and nice and everything, and another one named James who acts as if I'm the bane of his existence *shrugs*. I'm waiting until Viktor is back on his shift before asking anymore questions, lol.
Anyway, to your questions.
"Use tinyMCE WYSWYG editor" - or "skin"
Ignore all the check marks for the tinyMCE. I'm still working on how to get that to appear, but basically what that is is all those little buttons that have B I U S, etc... so that if you need to fix a bold, italic, etc... you can do that without messing with HTML. DON'T unclick it though. I don't want to know what would happen if that happened, lol.
Skin is another word for site layout/background. The current blue background with the annoying picture up top is a Skin. As soon as I get enough RAM on this computer to reload Dreamweaver (a web building program) I will be able to create/upload new Skins for people to have the option of choosing from.
As for Beta-Reader --- that's if YOU are willing to be a Beta-reader. If you would like to solicit for a beta-reader, put that in your Bio. I'm sure there'll be plenty of willing people

For anyone that may be wondering, the archive site is being a tad on the slow side this morning. The server is having an SQL issue and they're working on getting things back up to speed -- in the meantime, the site still works, it just works at it's own turtle-esque pace.
