I, for one, am glad you are here.....I was a little offended last night but I have PMS really bad the past couple days so I'm overly sensitive right now, not to mention that I have alot of other crap going on in my life right now that is eating away at me but either way....your insight was FANTASTIC and I DO think that you being twelve AND having that insight is INCREDIBLE.....YOU ROCK, kid!!!  |

I was just seeing who was going to call me "kid" first ;D. Every website I've ever been on (writing website, that is, and I've been on a lot) they call me kid. Even when I pretend I'm thirteen. It's my name over there. Except for FFnet. But on writing.com... yeah. Well, that was random. I'll be quiet now.
Thanks! Your guyses compliments are making me feel bad about never editing my stuff before I post it and stuff like that. Now, it's like I have a standard to live up to. I'm just sucking up this glory while I can... ;D

... I don't think I've ever really called anyone "kid" before, now that I think about it, but I know what you mean... That's because I am, admittedly, one of the younger writers on this board. It would feel too weird to call someone "kid." That's why I wasn't impressed because of your age; I'm not that much older, myself.
The older you get, I think, the dumber you come to expect everyone younger than you is, and the less faith you put in people.

I don't think younger people are dumber (and believe me, I'm O-L-D!!) I just get very impressed when I see someone who is young not wasting their brains. It's refreshing since I do come across some real gems of kids sometimes.  I call my older friends 'kid' even. Term of endearment as far as I'm concerned. At least the way I mean it. |

It's not unwarranted, I suppose, but in my experience people tend to lump all younger people together and consider them identically obnoxious and dumb until proven extraordinary and precocious.
Obviously, though, just as not all young people are idiots, not all adults consider them immature and unbearable.
I said that it's not unwarranted because, hey, that's what most kids demonstrate.

I always said if I ever had kids (which I don't and don't want) I wish they could just come out teenagers so they'd just be cool right off the bat! lol
