...that about twenty minutes ago, there were 18 guests on the site? I had to look at it again to make sure I was seeing it right, hahaha. I think the most I've ever noticed was maybe 5 or 6.
Come on in, everyone, pull up a chair! ;D

... Much. ;)
(Couldn't help myself, lol.)
But, wow, I didn't notice that. Have there ever been that many guests? o.O

Not that I ever noticed. The thingy at the bottom (I'm being technical here, so bear with me) sometimes notes when the most members online was, but I don't think it keeps track of guests.

Wow. The most I think I've ever seen was 4 or 5. 18 though, that's crazy, lol. That's just people not signing in, I guess.

It can be open windows on your IE, too. I found that out on a friend's site since I usually have about 6 windows open at one time.

It could definitely be that. I'm not sure how the recording of IP Addresses work, though -- but the forum tracks those, and that's how it can tell who is online and how many people are merely taking a glance. The forum is given that ability so that when trouble makers come around they can be blocked by both their screen name and IP address. I still think that's really interesting though. Our online record was broken in any case

You can click on the number beside the guests, and it will pull up a list of IP's.
-grins-
From there you can go to the admin panel and check them against known member IP's.
-laughing-
You've got Damien to thank for that info.

Haha, I'm WAY too lazy for that one. I've had people tell me in the past that they like to remain un-logged-in until they have something to say, so others don't know they're online. I could understand that one. Often times, though, I'll leave the window open for long stretches at a time... so it appears as though I'm online, but I'm really nowhere remotely close to the computer. I imagine that's the case for a lot of people, lol.

Um...not me. If I leave the computer for a few minutes one of my brothers will log me off. They're like that, lol.

I always leave windows open too. I'll come on to see whats being discussed and then have to get up and do something, and l leave it open to 'come back' but just get sidetracked doing other stuff.

I'm on the same bus as Another Illusion. I lurk a lot. Not so much since the "log me in forever" feature came to my attention, but hey.
