I'm feeling the Elvis/Soda correlation and also the early Bruce Springsteen. Certain songs from Bob Dylan remind me of the guy, Pony especially. "Times they are a-changin'" is a phenomenal song that reminds me of the changes they're going through with the loss of their friends and the realizations about the common issues, rich or not.

I think "Numb" by Linkin Park screams Outsiders, the relationship between darry and Ponyboy. "Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes...and every step that I take, is another mistake to you..." I wrote a songfic about that one.
And for some reason, "Beat It' by MJ. The whole fighting thing....Soc vs. Greaser...yeah.

I can not ever think of The Outsiders without hearing Family Force 5's "Kountry Gentleman" play in my head, I just think it's so pro!! Also, I'm writing two songfics (or attempting to). One is "Believe" by Skillet, focusing on the Darry-Pony conflict while Pony's in Windrixville. The other is Monster, although I'm debating whether to place that as an Outsiders fic or a Star Wars fic, since it works well for both

I'm a huge Kings of Leon fan and have been for quite some time, so of course I've found many connections to the Outsiders in their songs. lol.
The song 4 Kicks by The Kings of Leon kinda screams Dally to me. "Huffman don't take no nonsense, He's here to rectify He's got his black belt buckle, And the red man's fire in his eye.
You with your switchblade posse, I'll get my guns from the south, We'll take to the yard like a cockfight Four kicks whose strutting now.
This party is overrated, But there ain't shit else to do, She's a lovin' on the boy from the city I'll be lovin' him under my shoe."
