Anybody doing anything fun this weekend? We have a Cub Scout dinner tomorrow evening that I need to help set up for, but other than that, it's just a weekend at home.

Hm... Feeding the poor, and checking up on my kitties at the cat shelter. I wish my brother were still in Cub Scouts, they had good food at those banquet things...

We weekend, thus far, as been full of pretty much nothing. I worked for a few hours helping my boss do his weekend pick-up (he busted his knee last weekend and has a hard time getting around) and then watched some TV and played my guitar.
All while putting off enough homework to make me want to cry. I brought it on myself for putting it all off for so long, but oh well.
Oh, and I just watched that old-er Disney movie Wish Upon a Star online -- I never realized that the older sister was played by Katherine Heigl.

And, because I want to put off my homework for even longer, I'll keep going
I got a paper cut under my index fingernail yesterday evening. you know those labels you can buy at office supply stores? We use those at work to label literally EVERYTHING. A few had been stuck together and were sticking to the floor, so I picked them up and grabbed them wrong apparently. Anyway, my finger is infected and swollen from that -- and it's very hard to get any ointment under there to try and fix it.
But, that's not really a weekend plan, that's just something that happened over the weekend. Hmmm...

And since I need to keep myself from worryign over just why my sister is so let getting home from work, I'll ramble on about my weekend so far.
My back is aching from sitting on bleachers from a past injury, and I wish someone would rub on it for me. I'm too young to have back problems... Oh, something I'm very excited about; While I was feeding the poor, I talked with a Vietnam veteran! It was the first time for me, and I was really nervous, so I forgot to ask some of the questions I wanted to ask him. (Me: -stuttering- Sir, your hat says you're a Vietnam Veteran? Vet: Yep. Me: -still stuttering- Where'd you serve? Vet: Da Nang. I was in the Navy and did supply runs. Me: -faints-)
-bites at finger nails- And my sister still isn't home yet... I hope her store didn't get robbed again! -runs around house pulling out hair-
On an Outsiders related note, I just wrote a story about Darry and his Dad going fishing. I think it's really sweet, though more of a bittersweet, because it's a day before his parents die. ;-;

My weekend has been lazy. I braved 2 hours of zero visibility to get up here and then I slept and watched movies and wrote. It's been nice.
Now, in about 15 minutes, I'm going to go next door and collect my father who has been over there drinking since 5:30 and that will probably be the most strenuous part of my weekend.
Like I said, lazy. I'll be worse when I get Reading Week off (18-23). So looking forward to that!
Anyways, night!

Hey Tens, my kids also have off the week of 18-23 for winter break. That's something new for me, as it doesn't exist in NJ. Just Christmas break and then Easter break. But anyway, your weekend sounds perfect . So our dinner went really well yesterday. It's a great deal for $5 per family - dinner, really good bread (donated by guy who has an Italian restaurant), dessert, coffee . . . . And now we can relax, because all but one of our scouts got his advancement badge last night (the one who didn't get it joined a little later in the year). Today, it's all about doing laundry and getting my house cleaned. Because I cant. find. anything. How's your finger feeling, Keira? And Sharpshooter - did your sister get home okay?

I've been doing a sickening amount of college research this weekend. I feel homesick already, even though I won't be leaving until September of next year.
Makes me feel better to read that I'm not th eonly one having a boring-seeming weekend.

Is there anywhere you're leaning toward going? I loved college, those were four of the best years of my life . I was way too busy to be homesick, and I made some very close friends there. Nine of them were in my wedding (one was the groom ;D).

Yes, she did finally get home, about an hour later. She claims she had to wait for another employee to come before she could leave work, but I think she just wanted to torture me the night before my game. Then again, she has been doing this lately, maybe there's a secret friend involved? -Jesus, I sound like my dad. xD-

Lol, glad to hear your sister is alright.
My finger is doing better. It's still swollen, but not disgustingly so, and it only hurts when I use the tip of it, such as for typing... Lol, but like that's going to stop me, right? My mom suggested, last night, that I coat that whole infected/swollen of my finger with Neosporin (sp?) and wrap it up. I thought she was crazy, since the cut is underneath my nail and the only way to get ointment into it is by scraping it off the tube with said nail (which KILLS, by the way)... but either it worked, or my finger fixed itself. The rebellious side of me wants to think it just needed time to heal, lol. But, I'm thinking she was probably right.
The rest of my day will be filled with all that homework I put off. I have an 18 page article to read for English and write a page paper on, and about three sections of math that I've put off the last four or five days. Knowing me, I'll decided to "do homework" and just play the guitar again. It IS homework... but probably shouldn't be my priority. Speaking of the guitar though, I finally can feel calluses forming, which is REALLY nice, because I'm tried of my finger tips hurting after playing for only ten-fifteen minutes.

Oh, by the way, I won my game yesterday! How glad I am to be in soccer again... x3

I used to play soccer... in the second grade. I remember standing on the side lines and the ball came towards me... I was so excited that I could actually kick the ball, that when it went out of bounds I kicked it right back in... Needless to say, I learned very quickly that what I did was WRONG. My coach never liked me anyway (very long story involving the fact that he was my childhood best friend's dad who thought I was a terrible example for his daughters... and still feels that way today). I'm glad you won your game!
My finger is much better. Just the very tip hurts now. It no longer throbs, and it's only thick, not swollen.
I watched part of Season Two of The Office yesterday (my favorite show) and that made for a very funny weekend. I feel the need to see Dan in Real Life again.

Got a bit caught up in the moment? xD I had a coach last year who didn't like me, and he'd put me in as goalie just to humiliate me, then when we got a whole bunch of balls coming into the goal -because I suck at goalie!- he'd get mad and make the whole team run laps, so that they'd hate me. ;-; But, we'd never met before, so he couldn't even say he hated me because I was a bad influence on his daughter. -though, I've been told that many times but different people... I need some guy friends, they're allowed to actually have fun-
My friend was talking about The Office. Isn't it more of a mature humor kind of show?
