CHRISTMAS!
Wow, I'm never excited for Christmas, but hey. It's 24 days in counting, so might as well make some noise!
So, that being said, what is everyone doing for Christmas this year?
I'll start. Anyone who needs to get up and go to the bathroom should do that before I get going. Back? Good.
Well, after exams I always start a Christmas story. This makes year three of that. They're originals written in about a week. It's my big destresser from school and I enjoy it a lot. If you're interested I always post as I go on Fictionpress.

For Christmas, things get complicated. We split the family between my dad's side and my mom's side. So we spend one day with each.
Let's see. I'll explain some things first. I have an uncle and an aunt - my dad's brother and sister - who always end up with their other families on Christmas Eve when our family prefers to get together. So someone (not sure who I'm supposed to blame there) decided that we should have Christmas the Saturday before instead of this separated nonsense. So were going to have Christmas Eve on the 22nd at my Uncle Mark's most recent house. So I will be spending Fake Christmas Eve in a place I have never been before. It should be interesting.
Then on real Christmas Eve we go next door and drink and make merry with the neighbors and I kick ass at cards. I only play well when I'm a little tipsy. Interesting, huh?
Sometime around 4 in the morning on Christmas Day, my uncle Dover arrives at our place, so we generally get up then and do breakfast and presents. If my uncle Bran is around, he'll have been staying with us for a few days since he hates little kids, but loves mooching off everyone for food, so we're the only place he can find that.
Then we pretty much veg all day until we head out to the farm or my cousin Sheri's for Christmas dinner. Then the night pretty much goes to pot.
My aunt turns into the house Nazi and orders everyone around.
My uncle Ron sits there and grumbles at everyone.
My cousin is a b*tch and her husband will be on the phone all night.
My great Aunt Gladys usually arrives later and takes control of everything since she's awesome that way, but I always end up on dish duty which is not so awesome.
My dad ends up talking football with my cousin who coaches it professionally on the college level (They'll have a lot to talk about this year since the Bisons won the Vanier Cup last week).
My kid brother and I get glomped by a 9 and 7 year old and this year probably a 3 and 6 month old, too.
Now, even though this is my mother's family, we bring Bran and Dover with us and they end up on the couch with a couple beers. I have found it effective to just sit between them and no one bothers you until dinner. They've allowed this for the last couple years.
Then comes the best part of Christmas - Boxing Day. That's when we go shopping for anything we didn't get for Christmas. Then we (my uncles and I) always make the trip into the city to see my friends who are still in the old neighborhood. The nice part is they're supposed to be supervising, but they always end up going to the auto-shop they both practically grew up in, so I have tons of time with my boys to get up to no good.
And that's Christmas. Anyone got a crazier mess to share? Or are there sane people out there who just have a nice, quiet Christmas?
