Anyone doing anything fun for Halloween this year? Or have any fun Halloween experiences? Or even freaky ones?
I haven't gone trick or treating in about 5 or 6 years (hey, even then, it was a good excuse to take my brothers or my cousins ... candy, you know?) but I went to a couple of haunted houses the last few years. This year I'm going to a party at a barn up the canyon, which should be fun, lol. My costume isn't too original... though, it is authentic! I'll be a cowgirl. I think it's the first time I've ever dressed up as one, and I had all the resources made available to me at work. Rock and my boss Clay were helping me pick out outfits yesterday. Lol. I brought a few home to try them on and around -- I had to get my mom's opinion (weird, I know) because she grew up in cowboy-country and knows a little about how it should look. Anyhoo, I'm actually kinda excited for Halloween this year

I don't really have any big plans. I've actually already got plans for that night, I believe -- every Wednesday my aunt and usually David and Jake go over to my grandpa's for chicken strips, Velveeta noodles, and hot dogs. Sounds like a lot. It's a tradition. Used to be Hot Dog Night on Tuesdays, before my grandma died. She died in March and since then my grandpa's been pretty lonely so we decided to start up the tradition again -- this time on Wednesdays. And we usually watch Pushing Daisies -- well, okay, I watch it; my grandpa has a bit of a memory problem, and every week, "Is this the same program?" -- and then Private Practice, and yeah. That's it. Enough about me and my life.
But those are probably my plans. Even if I wasn't doing anything, I have no idea what or who I'd dress up as and my brother probably wouldn't go trick-or-treating with me, lol. I'd totally still do that, though ... who in their right mind would pass up free candy? ;D
Maybe next year I'll actually think of something to dress up as. :)
Peace, Queen Jane

Meh. I am totally going trick-or-treating. I'm not even 13 yet.

I'm going over to my friend's house. We're watching movies and scaring trick-or-treaters. Which... is very mean and I have to remind him not to scare my cousins.
Luckily, he knows I can't do that so I'm answering the door. xD

Haha, fun. I'm going to a party in about an hour, up the canyon at a barn. Should be fun... I'm hoping it will be fun anyway, lol. I'm dressing up as a cowgirl -- had no idea it was at a barn until after I picked out my outfit, but hey, it works, right?

So? How was the party?
I'm not sure if I'll be dressing up, but I will most likely take the kids over to the development that some of their friends live in. We went there last year, and there were kids everywhere. Where we live, it's pretty rural and no streetlights, so it's a hike to get around.

That's cool, Liz. I didn't know you lived in a rural-like area. Sometimes I think I'd prefer living in an area like that, instead of in the thick of a city.
The party was awesome. Mostly just dancing and stuff, but it was so much fun When Rock and I were in high school, we learned how to do the Thriller dance, so when the song came on, two of the girls I went with happened to also know it... I'd forgotten part of it, but it all came back very quickly. It was fun because everyone wanted us to teach them how to do it. It was great. But I'll tell you what... it was the first time... and possibly the last time I'll ever wear cowboy boots while dancing. I have four blisters now, lol.
All the dancing was up in the loft at the barn, and apparently there was only supposed to be 50 people up there at once. When Cotton Eyed Joe came on, a bunch of people who weren't up there before, came up to do the dance with us. At the end of the song, the owner of the place ran up the stairs all panicked and said that we all needed to go down stairs because the beams were bouncing and shaking and he was afraid it was going to collapse. But other than that, it was a lot of fun

P.S. There were some of the most inventive costumes there, too. In our "party" alone, that we were hanging out with, there was a Mr. Rodgers, Nacho Libra, a hand blender, Jasmine, and a Hermoine. There were actually 2 Hermione's at the party and one female Harry, lol.

I don't even think we get trick or treaters in our building, so my roommate wants me to have a bowl of candy in my room so she can trick or treat here. *rolls eyes*
On Tuesday, we're pumpkin carving in our grade 1 class, so that'll be fun, and then on Halloween I think I will sit down and watch scary movies all night. That is if my buddies don't drag me out to our favorite cowboy bar for some chapped fun .
All in all, my life is boring. Oh well.
