Has anyone read any of her books? I have read most of them, and I even met her. She lives about 10 minutes away from me in Swathmore.

I haven't read her books, but I just checked her out on amazon.com and I love the concept of them - retelling classic fairy tales with a realistic spin.
Are there particular ones the you would recommend?
sidenote - a guy I used to work with went to college in Swathmore

My mom and dad both work at Swathmmore Collage. Not as teachers, but still...
Hmm... I would reccomend Breath, North and Stones in Water.

Thanks! And that's where the guy went to college. I remember him telling me that him and his friends used to take the train into Philadelphia sometimes. He loved it.

I've never heard of the author, but I like the concept, too. When I was younger, my cousin told me that all the Disney princess movies were based on really heinous books, and after I got over the idea that they sent the evil step-mother and sisters rolling down a hill in barrels full of nails and that Ariel ended up dying (or something like that), I realized I wanted to find these books and read them for myself. I never did, but the idea still intrigues me. I DID read the original of 101 Dalmations in the sixth grade. Don't remember much except it was the first book I read that didn't have a picture on the cover.
