Ah, so many things I can say I dislike about my own writing....
Firstly the plots in my head are long and complex. I have a hard time finishing stories because of this, as you keeners may have noticed. That and I get distracted with new plots, but hey. I need to get more focused, I guess. But I am a pleasure writer. It's what I do to relax and no day is without something from my imagination recorded. Sometimes I have to go along with what comes and put off what doesn't. That leads to three year gaps...Yes, definitely more organization required.
My OFC's...Well, they're all a little odd and they're all scene stealers, but I have to say no one's flamed them like they did my main OMC - Pepsi. I can't even honestly say I dislike writing him, despite the negative waves sent his way.
On that note, I use far too many movie references in my writing.
Ok, I'll call it quits there.
See ya in the funny papers!!!

Only one thing? Well, for one I think a lot of it is just boring and repetitive. I like to describe things like the scenery and characters emotions, but it doesn't really go anywhere.
I feel bad that I've used easy cliches to make everyone seem 'in character' - Darry's serious and works hard, Two-Bit drinks and cracks jokes, etc. I get so caught up in the main characters that I find it hard to focus on the others.
okay I'll stop before I seem way too insecure haha. I really liked what you did with Kathy in Middle Ground so it was interesting that you mentioned it.

I'm definitely guilty of what was discussed in that "joined at the hip" section in here. I write the gang all together way too much. I don't know why... And like Tens said, I always come up with new plots or one-shot ideas while I'm in the middle of a longer story...I usually end up interrupting my stories with four or five one-shots. Oops. And I also tend to take things from the movie and put them into my stories, even though I'm supposed to stick to the book... Wow, this is making me examine my writing way more closely than before!

I think...Wow, where to even start!
I don't edit my chapters before posting them, and I'm the worst at typos.
Also, I have this bad habit of going off-topic, realizing what I'm typing is not needed, but end up keeping it anyway. To top it off, I always have to double check to make sure I didn't go OC, which I do a lot. When I first started out, it was pretty bad.
When I make new characters, it takes me forever to think of a name. I'll start out with one, use it, then when I'm done the chapter I'll think of a better one. I skim through, making sure to change it all. One time I missed a few times. I wonder if what I just explained makes sense to anyone.
There's probably ten thousand more, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

This is hard...cause I have so much I hate about it. I have to work at being desricptive. Sometimes I can't put in plot and describe everything at the same time. And my writing and sentence structure always seems to follow a pattern that really makes me angry cause I can never break myself of it. Plus, I feel like some of the stories I'm writing never go in the direction I want them to no matter how hard I try. The plot always gets messed up wen I get it down on paper or screen. I could probably go on forever but well I'm not going to. I think I'm deflating my own ego a bit and theirs not much to begin with.

It's unfocused and inconsistent in narrative tone, phrasing, characterization, meaning and plot. (Anything else?) It makes me look like I don't know what I'm doing, which, at the time I don't, lol. I comfort myself by saying it's just a first draft, but that excuse falls flat when the second draft never gets written. I love to portray real life, where nothing's really cut and dry, but I tend to run with in fiction, which most of the time makes the writing just look sloppy.

PS: I don't edit my stuff before posting. Most of the grammar is fine, and spelling too, I just mean that if I've put it in the story, it's basically there for good, because I rarely read it over and take stuff out before putting it up. And like SamanthaMae, I get so sick of people's names in my stories. Seriously, I must change characters' names around like fifty times before I'm satisfied!

I was wondering if anyone would know what I meant about the character thing!
