Eh, you got to choose your teachers? I wish we were able to do that. I guess we are, in a sense, but apparently it's pretty difficult and I'm not about to do it. Luckily my Study Skills teacher thinks I'm like, the best student ever, so I've had her since freshman year, lol.
We just started school today. In fact, I just got home about a half hour ago. We had a half-day, all first days of school here are half-days, thank goodness. I'm a junior this year and let me tell you, it does feel pretty great to finally be an upperclassman, lol. And my brother and our friend Jake just started their freshman year today so David (my brother) and I walked to school together (we live, conveniently, about a block and a half away from the school) and we met Jake there and I kinda walked with them and showed them where their first hour classes were.
I'm pretty content with my schedule for the most part (I get to take French this year and as of today my French name is Brigitte, in honor of Brigitte Bardot ^_^); the only thing I'm not too thrilled about is Chemistry. I hate my class and I hate the subject and I have like, nobody that I know in that class so it's going to suck for me. Oh, well. Maybe second semester will be better.
Hope everyone else's first day of school (whenever it starts) goes well. :)

Dudes, school? Ugg...
Acutally, I am looking forward to it. Two, three classes a day and the rest is me time. I got so much written last year. Very little posted, but hey.
Let's see...I work right up 'til the 31st and then the first day of school is the 5th, so I have to be back by the 4th. Which means 3 day weekend! woot woot. My brother is what y'all down south would call at Senior this year and he starts on the 30th. Sucks to be him. Been there, done that, failed math and used French credits to get into a low standards university. Good times.
Anyways, I have work to do, apparently. Stupid work taking up all my fun time...
See ya in the funny papers!!!

Yeah, Artemis, I was doing that happy no school dance for a while too, and then I became a masochist and decided that I should go back to school and work full time - you know, for fun!
Good luck to you all - glad to hear your first day was good, QJA.

Even though when I was at school I couldn't wait to leave, now when I look back on it I get totally nostalgic and think it was really fun. It's ten years since I left school, so I think I have blocked all the boring stuff like maths class and just remember lunch time lol.

Well, not all of us get the luxury of not having to work while going to school, Tens lol
I bought my math book today. Couldn't get it used at the university book store, so it cost me $134. My jaw just about dropped, especially when I was looking at some of the other text books that were only like $15 - $40. Put it on my mom's credit card, though I have to pay it back of course, lol. Luckily, it was the only text book requirement I have this semester.
Rock and I are pulling an all nighter (supposedly) at work, so I have to go BACK to work now (it's now 6:50, and I started at 10:30 - though that's late for me.) Nice thing is, bosses aren't leaving us hanging, and they're coming back too. We all just went home for a little dinner/relaxation break, before we go back into it all again. *Shakes head*

Grr. My last day is now OVER! And it makes me angry. I have to go back!! I don't mind classes or homework, what I DO mind is the girls that go to my school and their problem with hating me because of who my friends are. Another hell year is on the way. SAVE ME!

Ugh, I feel your pain, st.-elmo-lover. People at my school have a big problem with acceptance, I think. They're all loud and obnoxious and rude, while I'm the polar opposite -- shy, quiet, and considerate. And for some reason people seem to think that's weird.
That's like, half the reason I hate going to school, because of the people there, lol. It's terrible. I shouldn't hate it so much just because of that. D:

Exactly! It's amazing how much people can change an expierence for you. We shouldn't let it get us down, but it still does. I'm shy and quiet most of the time but if you make me angry...wow. Lol. I've kind of realized that people will talk behind my back because they're too scared to say it too my front. Which makes me if madder! I'm dreading going back.

Just be happy YOU don't have to pay to attend that school, while some of us have to pay up-wards of $500 per class, per semester. Now if THAT'S not an incentive to do well in college... Lol.

Yeah, I'm getting my english degree now but when I switch to the art school I was accepted to, I'm going to be paying something like $1250/class/semester and the $350 I'm paying now will look like a dream!
School gives me a headache and a hole in my wallet.

Yeah. Good point. I don't have to pay it but my mom does lol. My sister's a senior this year and she's taking two or three colleges classes and I forgot how much my mom had to dish out for them. And then this year for me was....200, I believe. Because of drivers ed. And probably more if I loose any more books. I have a problem with that. So I guess it really isn't all that bad. But college classes do cost a lot!

Well, supposibly it starts the 4th, but classes start the 10th. Uni only really starts on the 4th for keeners, like you sorority types and froshies - and engineers. Holy man, they are a scary crew. No one parties like the engineers - in TO they paint themselves entirely purple, wear hardhats and jumpsuits and have screaming wars with the rival universities. When I was a frosh I accidentally got absorbed by a huge crowd of them and I honestly feared for my life.
Sororities confound me! I've heard of these mysterious things, but I've never seen one outside of Legally Blonde. There are always charity things going on that have some connection to the sororities here, but aside from that I am clueless. I have, unfortunately, seen a frat house.

I start school on Wednesday. August 29th. Then we're going to Delawere...but we'll be home for our first full day on Sept. 29th. The schools probably go back early because summer started early. For us anyways.
The school year for me is gonna rock more then my summer. I'm going to my brothers boot camp graduation in Febuary. For that I'll miss two or three days of school. In May I have my cousins wedding, but I won't miss any school for that. I've never been to a wedding before.
Wow... I said Sept. 29th. I meant 4th!

Hahaha. I'm more often than not a part of the wedding party. I've only ever once been a bridesmaid/maid of honor (at Rock's wedding) but like I said, I'm more often than not a part of the party. Photographer (though I take crappy pictures, I'm not the "official" photographer, thank goodness), waitress *gags*, usher, baby-wrangler, etc... But it's fun when it's time to start dancing. Lol.
I average at least 3 weddings a year, usually more. I'm not a huge fan of them, but I manage. I actually have a wedding this Friday - my first one this summer (amazingly, considering last summer I had five in one month - two of those on the same day) - but one I'm not apart of... yet. I tend to get pulled into things last minute, but hey, who knows? I might get to enjoy this one for what it's worth! Lol. It'll at least be the fanciest wedding I've ever been to.
