Byebyebirdie, that's one of the best descriptions of Two-Bit that I've ever heard. I'd never thought of it that way, but it's so true. I've just been acting in Twelfth Night, and the moment I read your post I thought, "Ahhh! Two-Bit is Feste! How did I not notice that?"
And, because I'm a Shakespeare freak right now, I'm going to give you a quote from Viola which explains exactly why Two-Bit isn't stupid: "This fellow is wise enough to play the fool,
