So - now that the winners are announced - how do you feel about the results? Do you agree with the votes? Do you disagree? Can you think of stories that should have been nominated for categories but weren't (include links and the category!)?
Basically - what do you think of Season 4?

Unfortunately I haven't even gotten to reading several of the nominations. I can't say that I disagree with any of the results (except for Best Ponyboy, lol; I loved loved loved The Long Way Home, by Glass Shoe, and thought it was so much better than Ten Years Later, but thanks very much to those who liked TYL . Other than that, I thought the season was successful (thanks to Keira, Rock, and Tens for all the work they put into the site!), and I hope everybody had a great time both reading and writing the stories. Congratulations to everybody who was nominated, and to all the winners! Now, let's raise the bar even farther and get started writing some more great stories for Season Five... ;D

V. much satisfied. I got to see some old favorites, and some new award-winning fics to keep in mind for the upcoming Labor Day weekend. I'm also happy to see I won a tied award with Misosoop, as I think her fic is also an excellent execution of an innovative idea, which could otherwise have got very cliched.

I'm happy with the results. I mean, I didn't win but hey. Really, though, I do have to go read some of the ones I haven't already but I voted on the ones I nominated and I nominated quite a few. Liz, Ten Years Later was phenomenal. Did I spell that right??? Either way, really, you deserved it!

I don't know how I feel about season four. I mean, it sort of turned into my baby after a while. I titled it, helped pick different things, got the picture for the awards, set up the codes and won a few.
But I dunno. It seems like every season I find myself more distanced from the voting part of the awards. I was a judge season one when we were officially declared "a friends award site", Season 3 I kept track of the results when the voting was declared "still bias", and this season I just put a ten foot-pole between me and those votes. I missed out on the good stuff, huh? But hopefully with me so far detached no one will have anything to say about unfair voting Kind of like not watching the Hockey game so your team will win or something.
So yeah, real mixed feelings there.

I suppose I could see where people could *think* there's unfair voting but the truth of the matter is (in my opinion) that the best writers of Outsiders fic are HERE on THIS board. It's only natural that many of the regulars here would win. And I don't find anyone here to be biased or snobbish, for lack of a better word, so as not to be open to enjoying other people's stories who aren't regulars and voting for them. It's all good, Tens!

Yeah - it's a matter of "who the hell cares, really?" People work to write - they write well - let them have their damn award!
Personally, I was pretty happy with the outcomes. There were a lot of categories this year that I felt were pretty equal. For instance, TYL is one of my favorite stories (YAY LIZ!) but The long way home was also a great story - so I didn't vote. haha. That my fix to things I don't want to pick between - avoid and run!
Overall, it was a good season and had a TON of great stories. Good for the reading material, eh?

I like the winners. I forget most of my votes, so I'm just gonna read all the winners when I have time...

Another thing, I think people may forget from time to time, is that there aren't as many authors in our fandom as in others - therefore, we have a limited amount to choose from, and quite honestly, there are only so many that could be (and I'll probably be eating my words here, soon) deemed "worthy" of being nominated, you know?
But, all nominations get put up regardless of preference or whatever. I think we had to turn down only two nominations this round. One that had previously one in the same category, and one (or two?) that had to be turned away because the category had already been filled by the time their nomination came in.

I don't care I didn't win at all, I'm a new writer in a fandom and just seeing that people had actually voted for me at all when I looked at the results every now and then just made me feel really good. Congratulations to all winners! I've read most of the stories and they are all really good. Another Illusion

Totally agree anotherillusion. I'm *not* a new writer to the fandom, lol, I've been on ffnet since there was no Outsiders category. But, being nominated did the job nicely for feeling good. Although, a friend and I got a good laugh out of the fact that HBD was nominated in the "Romance" category, lol, but it was nice to check out the other nominees and think: "Sweet, am I actually in this category?!". It was more fun really just to check out all the interesting fics that I didn't know about before, and cheer on the fics that I loved. I didn't vote, cuz for the most part it was really hard to choose, but it was fun all the same.
