Someone go nominate my Darry story because I won't do it. I'd feel like a dork. Just don't want Darry to get eliminated for not having anything there!!!

I may have hallucinated, but wasn't there one in June? Meh, the more the better. Darry clearly needs love, maybe even more than Steve right now.

But it would still be awesome if you got to work on some more stories... I'm just sayin'... Yeah, that was my point. After posting, I thought "God, people are going to think that I'm such a jerk for complaining about not getting any nominations." I just need some new inspiration to jump-start my writing again. After so much time passing, it's actually tough to get back in that frame of mind!

So apparently, we're really bad at writing villains, suspense/action/adventure, Darry, and Thrillers. Also, I'm surprised that Soda and Two-Bit don't have more noms. I feel like every story I've picked up randomly lately has had one of the two in it. How were these categories chosen and what happens if there are no nominations? Is nominating time extended or is there just no award? Oh, and I seriously think that I need a fanfic dictionary. Trying to read through some of these threads (though, not this one in particular) is really hard because I'm constantly flipping back from this tab to my urbandictionary.com tab. haha

To answer a few questions... Yes, the site will stay up after the season is over - none of the pages will change, so you will be able to see the nominees, winners, and everything else until the new season is slated to begin (whenever that may be, lol).
If there are no nominees for any given category, that category will just be nullified for the voting process (this has happened before, and is no big deal) - which is how the winners will be decided. The Voting page has more info on that. But basically, there will be polls listed on the site come that time and you will be able to vote once per category for the story you think should win.
Oh, and, Zevie - sound words of advice I think I'm glad you're liking the season so far. It really is a fun way to get other's stories out there in the open - and as far as what has ever been brought to my knowledge, there are rarely upsets and what else have you, in the past - which I know we are very lucky for.

Mars, you made me smile. Your challenge is basically my story 'Who Gets to be Daddy?' about 8 years after the book. So would I have to write a new one?

No need to feel dorkish, fosterchild - your story was nominated literally about a half an hour before you sent in your own Even if it hadn't been, there's nothing wrong with nominating your own story. It happens. Sometimes it's the only way to get it out there because other people are just plain lazy to do it themselves. In any case, the Darry category isn't feeling quite so neglected any longer

I'm guilty of massive laziness. Too much work, all that pointing and clicking... Plus, if I did manage to nominate all the stories I like, you guys would kill me for flooding your inbox.
Fosterchild, I didn't even know you had that fic up until today. Getting the message out on new fics is one of the best parts so far of these awards!

Oh, we don't kill. Just maim a little is all. No, really though, we don't mind when one person sends in plenty of nominations by themselves. It's all up to your personal disgression and if you think a story is worth the time it takes to nominate it. If it's worth it to you - great! If not, then that's okay too

Okay....let's see.... Write a story about Darry having a day off from work. What does he do and who does he do it with? Is it different from how he used to spend a day off? Thanks for the prompt, mars, it worked wonders, lol. I swear, the ideas on this board have gotten me writing more than anything else lately.

Remember that the nomination period ends on the 31st - in roughly 2 1/2 days. So any nominations you've been putting off, for whatever reason - please send them our way. You'll notice that a good few categories have been closed off, considering they're now full, and there are a few who are lacking in nominations period.
Thanks to all those who've nominated so far

LAST DAY TO NOMINATE!
Please get your nominations in today as it's the last day. Wouldn't want anyone sad or upset that their nomination wasn't accepted late. If you feel bad about nominating your own - nudge a friend in the right direction and get them to do it for you, lol. If they're your friend, they will
In addition - please note that voting may not begin until tomorrow evening. All depends on how fast we can get the polls made and posted. I was playinig around with a couple of our closed categories the other day, and it was proving to be a little tricky, but no matter how it ends up looking (i.e. a poll on the page, a link you must take to get to the poll - the latter which I'm trying to avoid), they will be ready to go by tomorrow evening at the latest.

Aww. This year's going to be really hard. There are SO many good stories that I want to vote for but some of them are in the same category. This shall be hard.
